Bolstered by the million-selling singles “Freddie's Dead” and the title track, it became one of the few soundtracks to out-gross the film it accompanied. Alongside Marvin Gaye's What's Going On, it pioneered the socially aware soul concept album, with unflinching lyrics about poverty and drug abuse set to deep grooves, trademark wah-wah guitar, and stinging brass. This 50th anniversary expanded edition adds a full disc of bonus single mixes, instrumentals, and demos, with lacquers cut directly from the master analog tapes by Kevin Gray.

Features

Number of Discs: 2 (numbered, limited edition double LP with bonus tracks on LP2)

Lacquers cut directly from the master analog tape source by Kevin Gray

Deluxe tip-on packaging, individually foil-stamp numbered, with fold-out movie poster, new liner notes, never-before-seen photos, and an exclusive felt turntable mat

Label: Curtom

Track Listing

Side One:

Little Child Runnin' Wild

Pusherman

Freddie's Dead

Junkie Chase

Side Two:

Give Me Your Love

Eddie You Should Know Better

No Thing on Me

Think

Superfly

Side Three:

Freddie's Dead (single mix)

Superfly (single mix)

Ghetto Child (demo of “Little Child Runnin' Wild”)

Pusherman (alt mix w/ horns)

Freddie's Dead (instrumental)

Side Four:

Junkie Chase (full length instrumental version)

No Thing on Me (instrumental / score version)

Militant March

Eddie You Should Know Better (instrumental)

Radio Spot #1

The Underground (1970 demo)

Check Out Your Mind (instrumental)

Radio Spot #2

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0745/9451/7246/files/curtis-mayfield---super-fly---original-soundtrack-lp_1.jpg?v=1793756230
